Poster, British Railways (Eastern Region), Visit the Ancient City of Lincoln, by Allanson Hick, about 1950. Coloured lithograph depicting a map of Lincoln, with annotated illustrations of places of interest and historic events. These include the railway station, industry, the Usher Art Gallery, cathedral, a public execution, Pottergate Bar, pageanty and a stereotypical view of the Jewish financier "Aaron the moneylender on Steep Hill". At the top are the coats of arms of the City of Lincoln, Robert Grosseteste, Hugh of Avalon, Edward King and Robert Sanderson. British Railways 'totem' logo at the bottom with text advertising guides and timetables. Text in bottom margin reads "Published by the Railway Executive (Eastern Region), PP7066, Printed in Great Britain, Jordison & Co. Ltd., London & Middlesbrough". Format double royal.
