The car is heading for the open doors of a ferry beneath a sign with an arrow pointing ahead and the words "Clearway to the Continent". Text below, on the background of a yellow arrow, gives details of further information on ferry services between Dover, Calais, Boulogne and Dunkirk. Text in margin reads "Published by the Southern Region of British Railways AD/9243/A2½/81162, Printed by Gilbt. Whitehead & Co. Ltd." Format double royal.
