Model of Victor B2 nuclear bomber in anti-nuclear white flash finish.
This is a model of the Victor B2 bomber aircraft. The Victor was one of a trio of heavy jet bombers introduced in the 1950s. Together with the Avro Vulcan and the Vickers Valiant, the three became known as the 'V-Bombers'. This model was produced by the Royal Airforce Establishment's 'Cody' paintshop in Farnborough, and was probably used as a desktop model at technical meetings. The first B2 made its initial flight in February 1959. Later on the B2 role changed to low-level bombing with a green and grey camouflage finish - replacing the earlier anti-nuclear white flash shown in the model represented here.
