print; lithograph. 'Taylor's Patent Steam Elephant' / printed by MaClure, MacDonald and MacGregor, Liverpool. [undated, unsigned] depicts a steam elephant patented (Patent No 1575, 1860) by James Taylor (1817-1894), manufactured by James Taylor and Company of Britannia Iron Works, Cleveland Street, Birkenhead, pulling two flat trailers laden with timber; the steam elephant (type of steam locomotive) was exhibited at the International Exhibition, 1862.
