S.U. motor cycle carburettor type M.C.2

This S.U. carburettor, type M.C.2, was developed for use with cycle engines and is based upon the principles patented by G.H. and T.C. Skinner in 1904. It operates by maintaining a constant velocity of air past the petrol jet, the air passage and jet orifice being automatically varied in correct proportions respectively by a piston subject to inlet manifold pressure and a tapered needle attached to the piston.
