Reporter mobile radiophone type PTC 116, serial No. 6744, made by Pye Limited, Cambridge, England, 1951-1953.

This low-powered radio-telephone was primarily designed for installing in motor vehicles where high-powered equipment was impractical. Devices like these were used by British Police services in the 1950s. This example had a range of 10 to 25 miles depending on local conditions, and operated on two fixed frequencies - one for sending and one for receiving. The transmitter and receiver were housed in the same unit, and the power supply was incorporated.
