Morning gown, made from Brintons carpet, designed by Vivienne Westwood; 80% wool, 20% nylon; backing of jute, polyester and polypropylene, plus conductive EVE latex; made by Brintons and Vivienne Westwood, 1993. The gown is part of a collection designed by Vivienne Westwood for Brintons '1783 collection' advertising campaign. It weighs 15kg and the back of the carpet had to be softened in order to manipulate it in to shape. Fashion seamstresses used Brinton's special carpet joining machinery to sew the thick heavy carpet to such a precise and fine shape.
