Barney's Print of the Steam Engine at Dudley Castle, 1719

Until the discovery of the 1717 engraving of the Newcomen engine by Henry Beighton (see inv. 1930-785), this was thought to be the earliest image depicting the atmospheric steam engine invented by Thomas Newcomen.
