Large 'monojet' syringe, plastic, for removing fat during cosmetic surgery, by Tulip Medical Products, United States, 2000.

In the cosmetic procedure known as liposuction, fat is removed from parts of the body – such as the stomach and thighs – using this large syringe. Liposuction is becoming increasingly popular with both men and women but as with any surgery there is risk and the results may not always last.
