Print, mezzotint. Portrait of James Hutton (1715-1795) holding an ear trumpet to his right ear by J.R. Smith after R. Cosway 1786. Portrait, half-length, seated, with an ear trumpet to his right ear, facing half left, left hand resting on knee, wearing a powdered wig and tricorn hat. Hutton was a Moravian minister and bookseller.
