Commemorative Cover for the Royal Festival Hall 1951-2001 50th Anniversary celebration, issued 3 May 2001. No. 96 of a limited edition. 11x22cm. Including affixed, two mint original stamps from the Festival of Britain 1951: 2 1/2d red, with head of Britannia, cornucopia and caduceus, designed by Edmund Dulac; 4d blue, with Festival of Britain 1851-1951 logo designed by Abram Games. Special postmark franking by Royal Mail touches on two other, pictorial stamps, The Planets Suite [planets] / Gustav Holst and Sea Pictures [whales] / Edward Elgar, revised from 1985 issue. Montage photo of the Hall has London Eye ferris wheel in distance. Hall opened 3 May 1951, ceremonial document reproduced on back of cover
