Bruce Hobbs Collection

Black & white photographs of British Railways steam locomotives in various locations, including depots and works. Photographs taken by the donor's late husband, Mr. Bruce James Hobbs, during his railway career. Mr. Hobbs was an apprentice at Crewe, one of the last intake to be trained on steam locomotives. During his career he worked out of Willesden, Cricklewood and Bletchley depots, before moving to Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. For the last years of his career he was part of the breakdown gang.
