Four acupuncture needles in sterile packaging, manufactured by Seirin, Japan, 2004-2005.

Modern acupuncture needle with plastic tube for guiding insertion into the skin. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the needles are inserted into chosen points on the body to stimulate the movement of the energy qi and balance the Yin and Yang parts of the qi. Modern needles are disposable and very sharp. The coloured handle provides grip, and acts as a colour code for the length and diameter of the needle.
