[One of] Five Fire-steels (lengths 2 3/8 and 2 1/2 ins), of elongated O-shape, with open-work coiled tracery, all of similar design, inserted within the oval and secured therein by brazing; the smallest, reputed to date from about A.D. 1500, is much cut away on each striking-face. France or Italy.
