[One of] Two Fire-steels (lengths 5 1/4 and 4 9/10 ins); both closely-similar in type and of rude workmanship; at top, a large loop, for suspension; at bottom, a long blunt slightly-curved point, capable of being used as an ox-goad; an elaborate hand-hold at back formed mainly of a strip of iron folded upon itself many times; the whole of convenient shape to be grasped in the hand when it is desired to use the tool as a goad; one purchased in Moscow. Russia.
