EPIC (Electrically propelled indoor chair) model 103, with operational controls for a left handed user, manufactured by A. C. Cars Ltd, England, c. 1973-76. This is the NHS issue of the "Chairmobile" designed by Lord Snowdon in 1972.

The Model 1 EPIC is the NHS version of the original ‘Chairmobile’. The Chairmobile was designed by Lord Snowdon in 1972. Like the original Chairmobile, the Model 1 is driven by a motorised unit situated under the seat. This could make subtle movements via simple hand controls. This example is for a left-handed user. EPIC stands for Electrically Propelled Indoor Chair. This model was manufactured in England by A. C. Cars Ltd.

Lord Snowdon designed his Chairmobile for a friend with restricted mobility. It was lightweight, affordable and almost exclusively for indoor use. The original design was exhibited at the London Design Festival in 2003. It was donated to the Science Museum in 2004.
