Prestwich cine camera Model 1, c 1897. Cine camera for darkroom loading 35mm film in 70 foot loading reel. Lens is missing. Hand turned epicyclical sprocket wheel intermittent. Access to adjustable sector shutter. Adapted for printing with light trapped slots. Manufactured by Prestwich Mfg Co, 744 High Road, Tottenham, London N.

Prestwich Model 1 35mm cine camera, made in England, c. 1897.

This is an example of one of the first Prestwich cameras. It takes about 70' of 35mm film (loaded in the darkroom) and is hand-cranked using an epicyclic sprocket wheel intermittent. It has an adjustable sector shutter. The camera has been adapted for printing with light-trapped slots at top and under the lens panel.
