A photograph entitled 'Gorka's Rifles. Mussoree Bataillons' taken by Felice Beato, c. 1858.

This photograph, taken during the Indian Mutiny, shows a group of Gurkha soldiers and their British officer. The first Gurkha Regiments were incorporated into the British army in about 1816 and served as troops under contract to the British East India Company Army and the British Indian Army.
