A letter from photographer Jacques-Henri Lartigue (1894-1986) to photography writer and critic Ainslie Ellis (1920-1997), in which he pays tribute to the photographer Tony Ray-Jones (1941-1972).
Lartigue recalls the occasion in 1970 on which Ray-Jones visited him at his house in Opio. He describes him a having 'a vision of life that was full of humour, truth and a sense of poetry'.
Ainslie Ellis quotes from this letter in his essay on Ray-Jones's life and work in the 'British Journal of Photography Annual', 1973.
