In Britain the launch of the third generation of mobile networks (3G) in the early 2000s initiated the general adoption of pocket sized personal computing that was always connected to the web. This Motorola A925 was used in BBC trials of broadcasting video over 3G. Broadcaster Jo Wiley pioneered live broadcasting over mobile video with this device at the Glastonbury music festival in 2004.
