The Sun photograph by Roy Spencer titled 'Safeguard Exhibition at Free Trade Hall, Manchester'. Caption on back reads: Chief Insp. J. Bardsley (Crime Prevention Officer for City of Manchester Police) - on left, observes the installation of a closed circuit TV camera (similar to that used by Metropolitan Police) on a balcony of the Free Trade Hall in readiness for tomorrow's opening of the exhibition. The camera will record street and shop scenes which will be viewed on a set on the E.M.I. stand inside the hall. Operating the camera are Jack Gill and Rob marshall (right), two E.M.I. employees. Below is Peter St. leading to St. Peter's Square (background).
