This very fine model was built by the high quality modelmakers T. and C. Coates Bros of Wallington, Surrey. It represents a full-size engine built for a jute mill in Kolkata, India, by John Musgrave & Sons of Bolton, the highly regarded and prominent Lancashire steam engineers. The company constructed over five hundred engines for cotton mills in Lancashire, and this model demonstrates their success in the international marketplace too.
