Cyril Charles Maudslay was the great-grandson of the engineer Henry Maudslay. Cyril was born in 1875 and was educated at Eton and Trinity College Cambridge. He founded the Maudslay Motor Company in 1902. Cyril served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve in World War One and married Dorothy Fleming in 1921. He died in 1962.
