The Hotel and Catering Industry Training Board was a registered charity in 1972, with a purpose of making better provision for the training of persons for employment in any activities of the hotel and catering industry. Duncan Rutter was director in 1976 until his retirement in 1996. The Hotel and Catering Industry Training Board ceased to exist in 1995 when it became the Hospitality Training Foundation.
