Eastman Kodak brought the Folmer-Schwing Manufacturing Company of New York in 1905. Initially they used the name Folmer-Schwing Company of Rochester however this was changed in 1907 to Folmer - Schwing Division of Eastman Kodak. It was then released by Kodak who were being forced to sell the company; as there were no buyers a new company was formed, the Folmer Graflex Corp (1928-1946).
