Born to Donald MacGregor, and Margaret Campbell. At eighteen Rob Roy together with his father joined the Jacobite rising. Was badly wounded at the Battle of Glen Shiel in 1719. Cattleman, who becmae an outlaw after losing money. Warred with the Duke of Montrose till 1722. Was imprisoned but pardoned in 1727. Died in 1734
