Halas & Batchelor Cartoon Films Ltd was established in 1940 as a formally registered company by husband and wife John Hallas (1912-1995) and Joy Batchelor (1914-1991); produced advertising and public information films; prduced animated feature adaption of George Orwell's 'Animal Farm' in 1954; 'Rudigore', first animated opereta, produced 1964; grew into one of largest film animation studios in Europe, producing commercials, feature films, adverts and public information films.
