Douglas Earle Marsh was the Locomotive Superintendent of the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway from 1905 until his retirement in 1911. He also worked for the Great Western Railway becoming Assistant Works Manager at Swindon in 1888. In 1896 he became Chief Assistant Mechanical Engineer of the Great Northern Railway. He died in 1933.
