Attended Harrow School of Art before leaving to take up a job at John Lewis' architects department as an architectural technician. Joined group The Sexty Brothers, musical group with brother Bertie, and later Four in a Chord, with his brother and two sisters. Recorded many albums and appeared on the Morecambe and Wise show. Later moved to Pocklington and worked for Shepherd Design Group. Works featured in exhibition at Bank Art Gallery, Invercargill, New Zealand entitled Three Generations: An Art Exhibition Featuring Father, Daughter, Grandson.
