The Saturday Evening Post evolved out of the 'Pennsylvania Gazette' which was established in 1728. It was initially a four-page newspaper with no illustrations that discussed political controversy, in the twentieth century it became well known for its covers by artists such as Norman Rockwell. Briefly ceased publication in 1969, was reintroduced in 1971 with a focus on health and medical issues by the Benjamin Franklin Literary and Medical Society.
