Registered in 1981 as Packcase Limited. Became Britt Allcroft Railway Productions Limited and Britt Allcroft Limited. In 1987 the name was changed again to Britt Allcroft (Thomas) Limited to reflect the companies ownership of the Thomas the Tank Engine copyright. In 2000 the company became Gullane (Thomas) Limited. Two years later it was bought by HiT Enterainment who were subsequently bought by Apax Partners in 2005.
