1836 - supplied engines for PS 'Ruby'. 1851 - supplied engines for the Amazon for the West India Steam Packet Co. 1855 - exhibited machinery at the Paris Universal Exhibition. 1856 - the partnership at the Canal Iron Works was dissolved when James Capel left the business. 1858 - John Seaward died and the yard was auctioned.
