1761 - the first exhibition of the society held with proceeds going to various London charities. 1770 - the word 'Free' is dropped by the society in its catalogues. 1782 - the word 'Free' returns to the catalogues. 1783 - in the annual exhibition catalogue, the start of the society is stated as 1762. Due to a falling membership from either death or desertion, the society ceased operations.
