1824 - established by John Seaward at the Limehouse Iron Works, Millwall. 1836 - brought out the direct-acting engines for the Gorgon and Cyclops. 1841 - supplied patented disconnection gear for the paddle steamer HMS Styx. 1842 - after the death of Samuel Seaward, John Seaward continued the business of Seaward and Co.
