Founded in 1910 as Elektromekaniska AB, changed name to Elektrolux after merging with Lux AB in 1919. Spelling of Elektrolux changed to Electrolux in 1950s. Traded in Britain from 1950s, offices in London then Slough with manufacturing in Luton. 'Ltd' changed to 'Limited' in 1960s.
