I & D Smallwood Ltd., founded by Isaac & David Smallwood, were based on Leopold Street, Birmingham, B12. They manufactured a variety of hand tools including spirit levels and slide rules. Previously (c. 1829) John Smallwood had been making coach brasses in Fordrough Street, Birmingham. The company were bought out by G.Gibson & Co. Ltd, in 1999.
