1894-1897 - studied drawing at the Metropolitan School of Art in Dublin. 1897-1899 - studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London. 1900 - became a member of the New English Art Club. 1918 - appointed knight commander of the Order of the British Empire. 1919 - elected a Royal Academician.
