1889 - Dr. Beatley studied at the School of Medicine in Charing Cross Hospital, London where he was awarded a prize for practical chemistry and aferwards studied at Newcastle; held the appointments of resident medical officer at Charing Cross Hospital, senior assistant at the County Asylum, Somerset, and resident medical officer at the Newcastle Dispensary; 1905 - wrote General Paralysis of the Insane.
