Lantern slides, 148 black & white and colour lantern slides, showing the work of the British Railways Soil Mechanics / Earthworks Department, 1960s. Includes landslips, testing rigs, lineside fires, soil mechanics graphs, etc. Each slide is titled, most are dated and most bear at least one number. The numbers prove that some of these slides were originally housed in the large wooden set of drawers of lantern slides currently housed in PAB basement.
