Stephenson has not had time to finish plans for the 'Canterbury engines'. He has ordered them at Newcastle to 'get forward with the cylinder & Boiler'. He will tender 'for the rollers without the gallows or frames ... best made at Canterbury, or perhaps cheapest at Portsey' [Portsea]. In a postscript he refers to events re drainage at Chat Moss.
