Foden Trucks date to 1856 with a small engineering company in Cheshire. Foden Trucks gained a reputation for quality engineering and played a key role in the evolution of commercial road transport up until it was absorbed by PACCAR Inc in 1980. This example was part of a large fleet of tankers that worked for the sugar giant Tate & Lyle Ltd. They had to deliver sugar from the London depots to a number of confectionary factories in southern England, and had been specially modified for the job.
