This design was not used due to concerns about its technical feasibility and the space required to construct it. Viewed over the River Thames; ships passing beneath, carriages and carts using the bridge roadway; arcaded embankment approaches. Dedication: 'To George the Third, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, ... [title], ... Is, by Permission, most respectfully Inscribed by his most faithful Subject, Thomas Telford.'
