Carved wood medicine bottle, in woven string bag, by the Kavirondo tribe, Kenyan, 1880-1920

A carved wooden medicine bottle with a woven string bag, used by the Kavirondo people of Kenya. Although now empty, the contents are unknown. Each medicine is prepared for an individual, based on the healer’s knowledge and experience.
