Railway Collecting Dog: "Laddie", stuffed Airedale Terrier in glass showcase with collecting box for London & South Western Railway Servants' Orphanage, ex Wimbledon Station.
Railway Collecting Dog: "Laddie". Laddie was an Airedale terrier. With a box strapped to his back he collected money for the Southern Railway Servants Orphanage and worked at Wimbledon and Waterloo stations between 1946 and 1949. He retired in 1956. After Laddie’s death he returned to Wimbledon, stuffed and mounted in a glass case. He continued to raise money until 1990.
