Coloured lithograph, Chalk Farm Bridge, Birmingham Railway, about 1838. Depicts a view of the London and Birmingham Railway, looking towards Chalk Farm Bridge, with the city of London beyond. A train of first class and open carriages is approaching, and spectators stand on grassy banks overshadowed by trees. At right are the chimneys of the engine houses for the stationary winding engines. Text in pencil below the illustrations reads "New railroad from Euston 1830 (sic), Chalk Farm". Mount 202 x 252mm, image 95 x 105mm.
