1868 - James North & Sons is established as a manufacturer of leather fashion gloves and military gloves. c. 1904 - the business is changed to a limited company. 1947 - manufactures the first PVC glove. 1972 - James North and Sons Limited is acquired by the UK Siebe group. The company is currently (2011) part of North Safety Products Europe.
