1762 - exhibited his prize-winning drawing of The Dancing Faun with the Free Society of Artists. 1773 - went to Houghton Hall, Norfolk, with George and Joseph Farington and Josiah Boydell to copy works in the collection. 1817 - retired from art due to failing eyesight. Worked, throughout his career, for John Boydell.
